St. Teresa School celebrated Independence Day on 14 August 2026 with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and active participation from students and staff. The entire school came together to mark the occasion through decorations, the flag ceremony, student activities, cultural performances and an award ceremony.
Celebrating Independence Day in the Tricolour
The preparations for the celebration began with decorating the school in the colours of the Indian tricolour. The entrances, corridors and different areas of the school were decorated with saffron, white and green. Tricolour decorations across the campus created a festive atmosphere and helped set the mood for the celebrations.
As students arrived at school, they could see the colours of the national flag throughout the campus, making the day feel special from the very beginning.
Flag Unfurling Ceremony
The celebrations began with the flag unfurling ceremony. Students and staff gathered together to honour the National Flag and celebrate the spirit of Independence Day. The flag was proudly unfurled as students and teachers came together for this important part of the celebration. The ceremony reminded everyone of the significance of the day and the values of freedom, unity and responsibility.
Flag Drill and Student Participation
The students also took part in a special flag drill on the school grounds. They stood in organised formations and carried flags as they participated in the activity. The drill gave students an opportunity to participate together and added a sense of discipline, coordination and patriotic spirit to the celebration. Seeing the students take part with enthusiasm made the activity an important part of the day's events.
Beginning the Performing Arts Programme
After the flag ceremony and student activities, the celebrations continued with the Performing Arts programme.
Before the performances began, the Principal lit the diya to mark the beginning of the programme. This provided a traditional and meaningful start to the performances that followed.
Students Take the Stage
The students then took to the stage and presented dance performances on patriotic songs. Their performances brought energy and excitement to the celebration as they expressed their love for the country through music and dance.
The students performed with enthusiasm and confidence, making the programme enjoyable for everyone present. Their efforts also reflected the importance of giving students opportunities to express themselves, work together and showcase their talents.
Recognising and Celebrating Student Achievements
The celebration also included an award ceremony to recognise the achievements and efforts of our students.
The Principal and Directors presented awards to the students, appreciating their hard work and accomplishments. For the students receiving the awards, it was a proud and memorable moment. Their achievements were also a source of encouragement for their teachers and fellow students.
